The 2017 Les Voiles de St. Barth Regatta turned out to be an exciting, yet challenging, weekend for all involved. Although, the last race day was cancelled due to finicky weather conditions the regatta was another success in it’s 8th year running.
It was especially exciting to see Doyle sails do remarkably well in the race. Maxi 72 Proteus dominated throughout the week finishing with 1st place overall in the regatta for the second year in a row. Proteus had a 3-point lead over 2nd place holder Prospector.
“We arrived here this week, knowing that it was going to be a super tough event like it always is here, with really high-caliber competition in the maxi fleet, and obviously we weren’t disappointed,” said Proteus Tactician Stu Bannatyne. “ A few different boats, have strengths in different conditions and we had to work really hard to get the results we did.”
Congratulations to everyone involved and a special shout out to our Doyle powered boats, Bella Mente, Highland Fling XI, and Sojana.
